VERITAS

Dominican Sisters: 800 Years of Truth

Rooted in St. Dominic’s 1221 charism, we preach the Gospel through education, healthcare, and direct outreach in Nigeria, sustained by contemplative prayer.

Our Roots

The Order of Preachers

Founded in 1221 by St. Dominic de Guzman, the Order of Preachers was born from a profound call to contemplate and share divine truth. Our congregation carries this ancient charism forward, adapting it to the urgent needs of the present day.

From our Motherhouse in Zamfara, Gusau, Nigeria, we extend this mission to serve the impoverished and marginalized creek communities, echoing St. Dominic's original mandate to preach the Gospel where it is most needed.

Our Heart

Contemplation Fuels Our Action

Our Christocentric and Marian spirituality grounds every active ministry. Daily solemn Eucharistic liturgy and silence sustain our sisters, allowing us to encounter Christ in the classroom, the clinic, and the creek.
